My work celebrates identity, culture, and community. Honoring the experiences of people of color, the Filipino community, and the vibrant spirit of Washington, D.C., through bold colors, layered textures, and intricate forms, I aim to represent the beauty, resilience, and individuality within these intersecting cultures.
Using vibrant color palettes and hair textures as recurring visual elements, I express stories of pride, heritage, and belonging. Each piece reflects my own journey as a Filipino American artist growing up in D.C., drawing inspiration from the city’s creativity, rhythm, and diversity. My goal is to create art that represents both my community and the culture that raised me, bridging tradition and modernity through my practice.
Working primarily with wood and acrylic paint, I combine hand-cutting, laser cutting, and 3D modeling to create tactile, dimensional artworks. Through this process, I hope to expand visibility for Filipino and BIPOC artists, using color and texture as a language of empowerment, connection, and joy.
